NAS Synology Hybrid RAID

Okay, SHR is fascinating.

It’s basically RAID 5/6 but it’s pretty much easy mode. Quite frankly, I like it that way, even if I like dealing with technical matters because well, it’s storage and it’s mission critical.

That said, I’m glad things are made easier with these since it’s a hassle to deal with moving data you don’t want to lose or spend the time double-checking if things are done right. Oh and it’s also nice that it works with varying sizes of drives. I did start with a 4TB when I got the NAS and had started expanding with 10TB drives.
