<aside> <img src="/icons/info-alternate_yellow.svg" alt="/icons/info-alternate_yellow.svg" width="40px" /> This entire thing has been debunked very quickly July 8, 2024 10:48 PM (GMT+8).

Looks like the website owner already fixed these issues, and Pagespeed Insights now gives a 100 SEO and it actually shows up on Google now.

deidetected.com is being SHADOWBANNED by Google?!

Google Is Censoring "DEIdetected.com"

I’m a bit curious about this one.

On one hand, this is a strange thing to see. When other search providers have the site on #1 while Google doesn’t have it in its index at all then they’re either really, really unlucky with Google’s crawler or as the folks say, there’s a conspiracy afoot.

I think it’s lacking one big vital piece of information though — what does Google have to say about the site?

And when I say that, I meant: “has the owner of deidetected.com used the https://search.google.com/search-console/about tools and see the actual reports listed by Google?”

I reserved this benefit of the doubt because it’s very easy to say that Google is altering results in its favor and it is true for reasons, but SEO is finicky business and it’s not just a configuration thing sometimes. Sometimes, it’s just pure luck and their curation and crawler are simply not at your site, even for months.

I partially agree with Asmongold’s take that there’s some certainty to issues happening here — but I’d want to see the Search Console Tools’ results before reserving judgement, because there could be issues here with Google and Vercel-hosted sites or perhaps there’s keywords or algorithms that are being tripped here somewhere that their crawler is somehow causing issues on.

But yes, it is a valid take that Google is failing to work for this particular site, and it is an issue. The question is whether it’s malicious or not.
